THE SOLAR SYSTEM WEB QUEST
What do you think it would be
like to travel to another planet? Would you go to
another planet without knowing what is there? What
would happen if there was something dangerous or
better yet, what if there is something really cool
there? Don't you think that it would be better if
you knew something about the planet you want to
travel to? In this web quest you will be learning
about a certain planet and what you will find
there. During this unit you will be
researching a specific planet with your team
members. Each team member will be assigned a
different job. The four different jobs to be
assigned are: * navigator * explorer * scientist * astrologer With the help from your
different team members you should be able to
complete the research project. Your main goal is to
enlighten us on your planet. You may: * construct a model of your
planet with the information about your planet
posted * invent some type of imaginary
alien from your planet to report your
information * write a report on your
planet * make a hyperstudio
presentation * collect pictures and images of
your planet and put them in a report * any other creative project
your group comes up with Some of the things you will be
researching are: * temperature * chemical make-up * distance from the sun
* topography (mountains, valleys
etc.) * size * color * order in the solar
system * number of moons At the end of the lesson your
group will be presenting your project to the rest
of the class. Not only will you be researching your
planet, but you will be learning about all the
other planets as well. You will be documenting your
information in your student packet. Your student
packet will include a brainstorming page, grading
rubrics and facts sheets.
