THE SOLAR SYSTEM WEB QUEST
* the fifth
planet from the sun * 483 million
miles from the sun * 16 known
moons * clouds are
red, yellow, white and orange * winds can
reach 250 miles an hour Jupiter is the
largest planet in the solar system. If Jupiter were
hollow, more than 1000 planets the size of Earth
could fit inside. Jupiter is a
giant ball of gas with a small rocky center. It is
covered by thick clouds. It is freezing cold at the
top of the clouds. It is boiling hot at the center
of Jupiter. There is a large red spot on Jupiter
that may be a giant storm. A thin ring of rocks
orbits the planet. A year on
Jupiter is 12 Earth-years long. One day is about 10
Earth-hours long.
